Mallorca: Palma police seize 2,886 fake goods
Mallorca’s Palma Local Police say they have seized 2,886 suspected fake goods: football shirts, bags and sunglasses are among the items taken from street sellers and a shop. The checks took place in Palma, Mallorca, on 13, 15 and 18 October. Police reported on Tuesday, 20 October, that they had opened five criminal case files linked to illegal street selling.
The first checks covered seven unauthorised selling spots in Parc de la Mar and on Can Pere Antoni beach. Officers took 337 bags and wallets, 184 football shirts and 24 pairs of sports trousers. They also removed 142 magnets and five sarongs from public areas. Police opened a case over suspected breaches of trademark rights.

Further checks that day led to three criminal reports over suspected trademark offences. Officers seized 729 branded sports shirts, 102 counterfeit watches, 201 pairs of glasses and other accessories.
