Mallorca farmers to get €13.9 million aid on Friday
Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands: 3,547 farmers and livestock keepers will receive €13.9 million on Friday. It is the first advance payment of direct aid under the Common Agricultural Policy for 2026. Across the Balearics, the Balearic Agricultural and Fisheries Guarantee Fund will pay more than €17.7 million to 4,094 recipients.
The payment covers eight types of aid. The largest share, €11.8 million, is basic income support. Another €2.3 million is for small and medium-sized farms, while €400,000 is for young farmers. The advance also includes support for cattle, sheep and goats, and for milk production.
Agriculture minister Joan Simonet said the money would reach farms before the 2026 aid scheme is settled. It can help cover everyday costs such as animal feed, energy and other supplies.
Elsewhere in the Balearics, 398 recipients on Menorca will get €3.5 million. Eivissa will receive €174,350 for 117 farmers, and Formentera €41,209 for 32 recipients. Advance payments can continue until 30 November; payments of outstanding aid can begin on 1 December.
