Mallorca farm grants: €12.25 million pot opens

Mallorca farms can seek a share of €12.25 million in Balearic investment grants: applications open on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, and smaller projects have a funding pot of their own. The Balearic Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment published the new round on Tuesday, 29 September.

Smaller projects get their own budget

The grants now run through three funding lines. Projects costing more than €100,000 have €7.7 million available. Investments of up to €100,000 have a separate €2.3 million budget, while €2.24 million is set aside for dairy cattle farms.

That separate budget means smaller projects on Mallorca and elsewhere in the Balearics no longer compete with larger ones for the same funds. If one line has money left over, the department can move it to another according to demand. The change follows talks with farming organisations and cooperatives, as well as a review of earlier grant rounds.

Applications close in November

Eligible investments start at €5,000. Grants normally cover 25% of eligible costs and can generally reach 40%. Young farmers, or farms that have brought in a young farmer, can receive up to 50%.

Applications close on 20 November 2026. The grants are intended to help farms improve their equipment, performance and sustainable management.
