A fashion exhibition in Palma, Mallorca, opens on Thursday morning with work by second- and third-year students. At the Balearic Higher School of Design, the pieces appear alongside documents showing the choices behind them. The exhibition, called “Caminar el disseny”, runs until 8 November.

The Palma display follows a fashion show and exhibition at the Footwear Museum in Inca, Mallorca. The school says the project brought design work together with questions about social life and global connections.

Students researched ideas, experimented with African fabrics, shared knowledge and used manual techniques. Workshops and other activities helped them explore different social settings. The finished pieces and accompanying documents show what they chose to make, what concerned them and what they learnt along the way.
