Mallorca crash: driver faces court after woman dies
A driver accused of causing a fatal crash near Porto Cristo, Mallorca, appears before Manacor’s duty court on Wednesday. A 23-year-old woman died at the scene late on Sunday. Two other passengers were injured.
The crash happened at about 23.45 at kilometre seven of the Ma-4020. The car left the road to the left, overturned and struck a tree.
Passenger dies at the scene
The 23-year-old was trapped inside the vehicle and died there. The SAMU 061 emergency service said a 41-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries, while a 35-year-old had minor injuries.
Guardia Civil arrests driver after hospital discharge
The Guardia Civil arrested the man on Tuesday after he was discharged from hospital. He is being investigated on suspicion of causing death by negligence, causing injuries and an offence against road safety.
Officers took him to the courts in Manacor on Wednesday to appear before the duty judge.
