Mallorca firefighter Lluís Borràs claims a fourth straight Spanish cycling title: the Felanitx-based rider wins the Masters individual time trial in Talavera de la Reina, Toledo, both overall and in Master 30A. On Tuesday, 20 October, Council of Mallorca president Llorenç Galmés congratulates him and fellow firefighter Miquel Àngel Franco on their cycling achievements. Franco, a corporal at the Sóller fire station on Mallorca, has been appointed Balearic youth cycling selector for cyclocross and Paralympic cycling.

Franco will work with young cycling prospects from the Balearic Islands. He and Borràs are both registered with the Club Ciclista de Mancor de la Vall: Borràs as a rider and Franco as sporting director. Galmés says their achievements in sport, alongside their work as firefighters, make them examples to follow.
