Mallorca firefighter jobs draw 681 applicants for 86 posts

Mallorca is recruiting for 86 firefighter-driver jobs: 681 candidates have sat an exam, and some of the posts will staff a new station in Santanyí, Mallorca. The Mallorca Island Council released the figures on 24 October 2026. It said 68 of the candidates are women.

Other posts will fill vacancies at fire stations across the island. The council says this is the largest public offer of jobs in the Mallorca fire service’s history. The previous round, in 2021, offered 32 posts.

Candidates must pass three stages. First comes a test of general and job-specific knowledge, then physical tests including water exercises, flexibility and a vertical jump. The final stage is a psychological assessment using questionnaires.
