Mallorca PP picks Fiscaletti for Senate election
Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands, has a new name on the Partido Popular (PP) Senate ticket: Marina Fiscaletti takes second place for the 29 November general election. Sebastià Sagreras heads the ticket. The party announced its choice on Saturday.
Fiscaletti has been director-general for social welfare in the Balearic government. She says she wants to focus on young people’s difficulties finding housing, balancing family and work, and future opportunities. Decisions made in Madrid must take account of life on Mallorca, she said in a statement released by the PP.
The party also named Ramón Sintés as its Senate candidate for Menorca. He is the PP’s general secretary on the island.
The PP’s Congress list for the Balearic Islands starts with José Vicente Marí Bosó, Antònia Roca and Joan Mesquida. Fourth is Xisca Porquer, the mayor of Campos on Mallorca, who said on Saturday she would leave local politics.
