Bomb threats hit European flights: four land in Paris
Four aircraft land without incident in Paris, France, on Friday, 6 November, after bomb threats target them while they fly over France. Police also investigate threats affecting flights at Copenhagen Airport in Denmark and Prague Airport in the Czech Republic. A spokesperson for French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu says Europe has recorded more than 20 such alerts in recent hours.
Aircraft checked in Paris
Bomb disposal teams are inspecting the four aircraft in Paris. French authorities have opened an investigation into where the threats came from. Officials say checks of affected aircraft across Europe have so far found no danger.
Police investigate in Copenhagen and Prague
Danish police say their immediate assessment is that passengers and others at Copenhagen Airport face no danger and have not been in danger. Officers remain at the airport while they investigate.
In the Czech Republic, police say threats concern several flights that had departed from Prague or were due to land there. They have put security measures in place, while the airport says its operations are unaffected.
The alerts follow false bomb threats against more than a dozen European flights on Thursday. Three had departed from or were bound for Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport in Spain, and three of the affected flights were diverted. False threats against seven other flights on Tuesday prompted security measures in Spain, Poland, Italy and Bulgaria. No one has claimed responsibility.
