Mallorca flights hit: 44 cancelled, 200 delayed

Heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong wind gusts disrupt flights at Palma Airport on Wednesday, 9 September. More than 200 services are delayed and 44 are cancelled after 5pm, airport operator Aena reports.
Of the planned departures from Palma, 118 are running late and nine are cancelled. At least 87 arriving flights are delayed, while 35 are cancelled.
Aena reports no other disruption at Menorca and Eivissa airports. The only cancelled flights there — two on each island — are linked to Mallorca.
The State Meteorological Agency, Aemet, records up to 30 l/m² of rain at Palma Airport, with gusts reaching 65 km/h.
