Mallorca’s food drive reaches around 60 supermarkets: volunteers collect food and basic supplies for social organisations on Saturday, 3 October. The island’s Rotarians organise the collection, called Operación Kilo 2026. Llorenç Galmés, president of the Council of Mallorca, takes part.
The volunteers collect long-life food, hygiene and cleaning products, and items for children. Organisers hope to beat last year’s total of nearly 40,000 kilos. Galmés thanked the organisers, volunteers, shops and donors, saying each donation brings practical help to a person or family going through a difficult time.
