40 Balearic forensic staff train for disability cases

Across the Balearic Islands, 40 forensic professionals have completed training in Baredi, a tool for assessing and classifying the degree of disability. The Balearic Ministry of Families, Social Welfare and Dependency Care announced the training on Wednesday, 7 October. The staff work at the Balearic Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences.

Baredi provides technical support when forensic staff take part in court cases concerning the recognition, declaration or classification of a degree of disability. During the training, specialists from the disability assessment body explained how the tool works and which criteria apply. It gives staff a shared tool and consistent criteria for a complex assessment.
