Three hurt as Formentera fight involves sticks

Three people were treated for minor injuries after two young people fought with sticks at a centre for minors in care on Formentera on Friday lunchtime. Both young people and a member of the centre’s staff received treatment at Hospital de Formentera. The Island Council of Formentera has reported the incident to the Guardia Civil.
The council says it wants the Guardia Civil to open an investigation and establish how the fight happened. One of those involved is still awaiting the outcome of a procedure to determine their age.
The Island Council has called for such procedures to be completed as quickly as possible, so authorities can establish whether a person is a minor.
