Mallorca error leaves 4,000 students without support

Around 4,000 vocational students on Mallorca could lose access to emotional wellbeing support in the 2026-2027 school year after an administrative error, according to the Federació de SaluT Mental. The scheme, called Flip Up. Dona la volta a les teves emocions, has been suspended, the group says. It is delivered by 3 Salut Mental.

The Consell de Mallorca told 3 Salut Mental that the initiative had been halted because its paperwork was not completed correctly and on time, the federation said.

Last school year, Flip Up reached 4,007 students at 30 vocational training centres on Mallorca. Some 213 young people asked for help or emotional advice through the programme.

Its continuation had been announced in June. But 3 Salut Mental says it put forward several administrative options to keep the scheme running during this school year, and none was accepted.

The federation said it was particularly worrying that a programme with those results could not continue when prevention and teenagers’ emotional wellbeing are a priority. It also warned that staff at 3 Salut Mental working on Flip Up could lose their jobs, and said administrative problems should not harm young people, families or education centres.
