Palma, Mallorca: Families cannot enter a memorial to victims of Franco-era repression at the municipal cemetery on Sunday, 1 November, MÉS per Palma says. The party says the city has closed the Columbario de la Dignidad, where the victims' remains lie, on All Saints' Day.

Xisca Mir, the party's coordinator in Palma, calls the closure “an insult to the victims of Francoism and their families”. She says families have found the doors shut while others visit their dead. MÉS per Palma wants an immediate explanation from the city and steps to stop it happening again.

Elsewhere in the cemetery, the association Memòria de Mallorca holds a tribute to victims of Franco-era repression at the Wall of Memory. Francina Armengol, president of Spain's Congress and secretary of the PSIB-PSOE, attends alongside the party's deputy secretary, Rosario Sánchez. Armengol says the visit honours those who suffered repression and those who defended freedom and democracy.
