Mallorca shop campaign offers free cloth bags

On Mallorca, customers at participating small shops may get a free cloth bag under a new campaign to encourage local shopping. Trade association Pimeco announced the campaign on 27 October 2026 and will supply the bags for shops to give away. It says the gesture thanks people who choose local businesses and encourages them to keep doing so.

The campaign also includes a social media video featuring Mallorca shopkeepers. It focuses on the personal service and care they offer. Pimeco says shopping at small businesses supports the families behind them and helps keep streets, towns and cities alive.

The campaign is part of the Retail Trade Support Programme, which aims to boost local shopping.
