Mallorca offers free digital classes for over-55s
Mallorca in the Balearic Islands: people over 55 can now sign up for free digital classes starting from 9 November 2026. Registration opened on 29 October for the Balearic Government’s Grans Actius programme. It initially offers 3,000 in-person places in more than 150 groups at 73 locations across Mallorca, Menorca, Eivissa and Formentera.
The lessons tackle everyday tasks: dealing with things online, keeping in touch with family and friends, shopping safely, using digital banking and spotting possible scams. They also cover what artificial intelligence can do. Classes are held in small groups, with tutors and the equipment needed. Teaching and research staff at the University of the Balearic Islands developed the practical course material.
The 2026–2027 edition is called Curso de vida digital. It is a Balearic Government initiative run in collaboration with the island councils and managed by the Balearic University-Business Foundation. Groups, times and locations can be checked on the Grans Actius website or by phone.
