Palma, Mallorca, is offering residents free visits and activities in hotels, museums, restaurants and shops from December. The scheme, called ‘Això és Palma’, was presented at the World Travel Market in London on Tuesday, 3 November, according to Palma City Council. Pedro Homar, manager of the Fundación Turismo Palma 365, said it aims to help people discover places they pass in everyday life but may not know well.

Hotels, museums, restaurants, shops and other venues can put forward activities for residents. The programme will bring together visits, workshops, food experiences and cultural events. Every activity will be free, and a joint campaign will publicise the programme.

‘Això és Palma’ builds on the international ‘This is Palma’ campaign, but shifts the focus to people who live in the city. The foundation hopes to add more partners and activities in future editions.
