110 free tourism courses put AI and climate change centre stage
Tourism professionals and public managers can now sign up for 110 free, certified courses covering subjects from cyber security to digital marketing. Spain’s Ministry of Industry and Tourism opened its 2026-2027 Anfitriones training programme in Madrid on 23 September. The platform will remain open for enrolments and course material until 23 June 2027.
The new element is a Campus DTI, dedicated to smart tourism destinations. Its courses focus on artificial intelligence, adapting to climate change and the circular economy, as the programme seeks to update tourism skills for current technology and environmental challenges.
Campus Abierto, the open campus, offers training in data analysis, leadership and commercialisation alongside cyber security and digital marketing. The new edition also introduces six themed learning routes and planned improvements to make the virtual platform easier to use.
Training is organised across Campus Abierto, Campus DTI and Campus SICTED. The ministry says Anfitriones has nearly 20,000 registered users, 98,834 enrolments to date and more than 43,100 certificates issued.
