Mallorca: Fundació Deixalles marks 40 years on stage

In Palma, Mallorca, Fundació Deixalles brings 40 years of its history to the Teatre Principal on Wednesday, 7 October. The staged anniversary event will draw on memories, homes and people who have been part of the foundation. Rather than hold a conventional celebration, Deixalles says it wants to look back and share what remains to be done.

Founded in 1986, the foundation helps people across the Balearic Islands who face social exclusion. It offers personal support, training and routes into work. It also runs projects that reuse goods, recover materials and prevent waste.

In 2025, Deixalles says its social programmes supported 1,557 people. Its environmental work helped prevent the emission of 9,370 tonnes of CO2.
