General strike stops glass collections in Eivissa, Ibiza
In Eivissa on Ibiza, a general strike stops door-to-door glass and light packaging collections for affected businesses on Wednesday, 11 November. Eivissa Town Council says the changes begin with the overnight round from Tuesday, 10 November, and also affect Wednesday’s services. Residual rubbish collection drops to 50 per cent, with hospitals, care homes and markets given priority.
Organic waste and commercial cardboard collections continue as normal. The council asks affected businesses to keep glass and light packaging off the street overnight and store them until regular collections resume.
It also asks people to avoid using street rubbish containers on Tuesday and overnight into Wednesday where possible, putting waste in them earlier or later instead. Furniture and other bulky items should stay off the street during that period, even where a neighbourhood collection is scheduled.
