In Palma, Mallorca, more than 1,000 public proposals are now part of the Balearic Islands’ sustainability pact work. At a meeting on Monday, 5 October, minister Catalina Cabrer invited the groups that submitted them, GOB and Terraferida, to future working sessions, according to the Balearic Ministry of Labour, Public Service and Social Dialogue.

The groups handed the proposals to the Balearic government in September. Cabrer said the Directorate-General for Social Dialogue and Economic Transition had since reviewed and incorporated them. Some are due to be discussed at the pact’s future sessions.

At Monday’s meeting, director-general José Antonio Caldés explained how the pact’s work is organised and outlined meetings held this year with social and economic representatives. GOB also handed over a paper setting out its view of the islands’ future. The ministry said the groups had agreed to send the directorate contributions gathered by the Citizens’ Climate Assembly.
