Formentera party picks González for island council bid

Rafael González is Gent per Formentera’s candidate for president of the Formentera Island Council in the May 2027 election: party members pick the sitting council member at a hotel meeting in Es Pujols, Formentera, on Saturday morning, 24 October.

González faces no rival for the nomination. His is the only candidacy cleared under the party’s primary rules, according to Gent per Formentera. The party announced the selection process on 26 September and opened it on 1 October.

After the vote, González thanked members for their trust and said he was taking on the responsibility with enthusiasm.
