Palma police seize 16.5 kilos of hashish

Police in Palma, Mallorca seized 16.5 kilos of hashish on 19 September, and two men have been remanded in custody. The National Police say officers began the drug-trafficking inquiry at the end of July after learning of a parcel addressed to a man living in Palma. They found six kilos of hashish inside, identified the recipient and arrested him.

The inquiry then led officers to a second suspect and a property thought to hold more drugs. A search there uncovered further hashish, a scale, cash and equipment used for selling drugs. Police arrested the second man and, after appearing before a court, both were remanded in custody.

Investigators believe the hashish was intended for other people to sell in smaller amounts. The inquiry remains open and police have not ruled out more arrests.
