Balearic health survey: 69.6% rate their health good
Mallorca, in Spain’s Balearic Islands, is part of a region where 69.6% of people rate their health as good or very good. The figure comes from the Spain Health Survey 2025, published by Spain’s National Statistics Institute on Tuesday, 20 October. Across Spain, the figure is 68.3%.
The answers differ sharply between men and women in the Balearic Islands. Among men, 75.6% rate their health as good or very good, compared with 63.7% of women.
The survey also finds obesity affects 14.9% of adults in the islands, below Spain’s 17.2%. Daily smoking stands at 14.5%, against 15.4% nationally. Among people aged 15 and over, 13.2% report drinking heavily at least once a month — the joint third-highest share in Spain, level with the Basque Country and behind Navarre’s 14.3%.
