Mallorca heat warning: high temperatures persist Tuesday

Mallorca is under a heat warning this Tuesday, 8 September, as temperatures stay high for the time of year. Spain’s State Meteorological Agency, Aemet, has also issued heat alerts across parts of the mainland and the Canary Islands.

Valencia and Gran Canaria reach the orange heat-warning level. Elsewhere in Spain, rain alerts are in place in parts of Asturias, Cantabria and Lugo, while Zaragoza has a wind warning.

Aemet expects generally settled weather across much of the country. A front will bring cloud and rain to the north-west, with heavy and persistent rainfall possible in Galicia and the western Cantabrian area.

For the Balearic Islands, the forecast includes spells of low cloud and possible morning fog. Winds in the Balearics and across the Mediterranean will blow from the south.

Temperatures are expected to fall in many parts of Spain, most noticeably in the west, but are set to change little in the east. They will rise in the Canary Islands.
