Mallorca heavy rain: Six-kilometre jam near Palma
On Mallorca, a six-kilometre queue forms where traffic from Andratx joins Palma’s ring road on Monday, 19 October. Heavy rain from the Adam weather system is slowing drivers across the island. Spain’s Directorate-General for Traffic also reports a four-kilometre queue on the ring road between Son Rapinya and Estadio Balear, and a queue of around three kilometres on the road from Llucmajor.
Traffic is heavy in Inca too. The traffic authority says drivers are slowing down and that no incidents beyond the queues have been reported so far.
In Calvià, the local council reports driving difficulties in La Romana de Peguera, Son Ferrer, at the Santa Ponça roundabout, on Ramón de Moncada street and at the Marineland roundabout. It is watching flood-prone areas in Palmanova and Magaluf. Local police and Civil Protection teams have been mobilised, and the council is asking people to avoid unnecessary journeys and take extra care.
Spain’s State Meteorological Agency, Aemet, still has a warning in place for possible rainfall of 20 to 40 litres per square metre in one hour, along with strong gusts of wind.
