Mallorca weather: Heavy showers and storms from Friday

Mallorca, in Spain’s Balearic Islands, faces locally heavy showers from Friday, with thunderstorms and possibly hail. That is the forecast issued on Wednesday by Rubén del Campo, spokesperson for Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). Before then, an isolated shower is possible on the islands on Thursday.

A weather front moves across mainland Spain on Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, the weather turns more unsettled as humid winds from the Mediterranean reach the eastern mainland. The agency expects thick cloud over the Balearics and locally heavy showers.

Showers could return to Mallorca and the other Balearic Islands over the weekend. Temperatures on the islands are expected to change little on Saturday and Sunday, while rain remains possible at the start of next week.
