Mallorca rain: heavy showers possible this weekend
Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands, could see heavy showers on Friday, 30 October, with more rain possible over the weekend. Moist winds from the Mediterranean are expected to bring the showers, says Rubén del Campo, spokesman for Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
Showers may last into Saturday
Saturday could bring further showers across the Balearics. Some may be heavy and persistent, while much of mainland Spain stays largely clear.
More showers are expected early on Sunday, but they should ease as the day goes on. Temperatures will fall. Aemet has not ruled out further rain on the islands on Monday.
Tuesday’s forecast is less certain
A small weather disturbance known as a DANA is expected to approach northern mainland Spain on Tuesday. Its exact position and path remain unclear, but Aemet says it could bring heavier rain to the Balearics that day. Locally heavy showers are also possible on Wednesday.
For the week of 2 to 8 November, Aemet expects temperatures in the Balearics to be typical for the time of year. It forecasts the most abundant rain in the Balearics and along the Mediterranean coast of mainland Spain.
