Mallorca, in Spain’s Balearic Islands, faces a risk of locally heavy or prolonged showers and thunderstorms on Thursday. Thick cloud is also forecast, according to Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). On Wednesday, weather alerts cover eight of Spain’s autonomous communities, but the Balearics are not among them.

Orange rain alerts, the second-highest warning level, apply on Wednesday to Almería, parts of Murcia and the Valencian coast. Other rain alerts cover Cádiz, Granada, Alicante, Ceuta and the Canary Islands. Cádiz and Ceuta also have storm alerts, while Zamora and Guadalajara have cold-weather alerts.

Unsettled weather is expected to continue along parts of the Mediterranean coast on Thursday, including the Balearics. For Mallorca, the outlook brings a chance of heavy or prolonged showers even as daytime highs across the islands rise. Aemet’s Wednesday alert list does not include the Balearics.
