Manacor, Mallorca, puts its historic shops on screen on 13 September, starting with Forn Can Munar on Artà Street. The business opened in 1957, and its film is already available on the official channels of Manacor Town Hall.

The short-video series, called Manacor darrere el taulell, explores each shop’s history, products and links to its neighbourhood. Shop owners will share their own experiences, memories and everyday anecdotes from life in Manacor, the town hall said.

Paula Asegurado, Manacor’s councillor for Economic Promotion, said the history of local trade also forms part of the town’s heritage. She pointed to the value of businesses that have served several generations.

The series is part of Manacor’s Commercial Strengthening Plan, which also provides for a campaign to protect and promote the municipality’s landmark businesses.
