Mallorca burglaries: five arrested over summer raids

Mallorca, Spain: the Civil Guard arrests five people suspected of breaking into several homes on the island during the summer. The force says it has broken up a gang based in Toledo province. All five people arrested are Spanish nationals suspected of burglary and membership of a criminal organisation.
The Civil Guard’s Balearic division says Chilean nationals helped the group. It says they specialise in home burglaries and are known to police internationally for similar offences.
Investigators will show material seized in the operation and give more details on Thursday at 11.15am at the Civil Guard’s headquarters in Palma, Mallorca. The operation is named ‘Pícaros Bal’.
