Balearic home mortgages rise 8.6% as Spain's fall

1,024 new home mortgages in the Balearic Islands, Spain: July’s total rises 8.6% on a year earlier while the number across Spain falls 3.49%. The Spanish National Statistics Institute published the figures on Monday, 28 September 2026. The Balearic total also rose 30.8% from June.
Lenders advanced €340.67 million for those home mortgages, 15.31% more than a year earlier and 38.3% more than in June.
Across all property types, the islands recorded 1,334 new mortgages in July. Another 1,389 mortgage loans were cancelled, including 954 on homes. The figures cover the Balearic Islands as a whole; they do not show how many of the new home mortgages were on Mallorca.
