Mallorca hotel: man held over alleged touching of children
Two families say a man touched their children, aged five and 11, at a hotel in Manacor, Mallorca: police arrest him on suspicion of sexually assaulting minors. The alleged incidents happened on Sunday night, according to the Balearic Islands police headquarters.
One family told officers the man sat beside their five-year-old son in the hotel’s entertainment area and put an arm around his torso. The boy’s father saw what happened, confronted the man and moved him away from his son.
Another family said the same man touched their 11-year-old daughter on the buttock over her clothes without her consent. A hotel worker said she had seen him approach children on earlier days, hugging and touching them, though not on intimate parts.
Spain’s National Police and Manacor’s Local Police made the arrest after taking statements from the families and witnesses.
