Ibiza and Formentera hotel occupancy dips to 86.45%
On the islands of Ibiza and Formentera, hotels record 86.45% occupancy in September 2026, down from 87.61% a year earlier. Ibiza reaches 86.9%, while Formentera stands at 82.2%. The figures come from a survey by the Federación Empresarial Hotelera de Eivissa y Formentera, the two islands’ hotel association, released on 8 October.
September ends on a weaker note
Occupancy across the two islands reaches 87.65% in the first half of September, close to the same period in 2025. It falls to 85.25% in the second half, compared with 87.33% a year earlier.
Santa Eulària is the only Ibiza tourism area to improve on September 2025, rising 0.72 percentage points to 85.61%. Sant Josep records the largest fall among the areas surveyed, down 3.09 points.
The season stays ahead
Across May to September, occupancy on the two islands averages 85.45%, up from 84.73% in 2025. Ibiza reaches 86.34% for that period; Formentera’s 78.81% is almost unchanged from last year.
The association’s manager, Santiago García, calls the September and seasonal results positive. Despite the monthly dip, he says September occupancy has remained almost stable against last year.
