Spain’s two housing decrees face Friday vote in Congress
Spain’s two housing decrees face a vote in the Congress of Deputies on Friday: Industry and Tourism Minister Jordi Hereu wants MPs to back both. Speaking on Thursday at the Oiasso Roman Museum in Irun, Gipuzkoa, he says housing is central to social cohesion in Spain.
Hereu says the country’s housing challenge calls for responsible, practical politics. The two royal decrees have already been approved and agreed, he says. He argues they would help shape a housing policy that offers guarantees and strengthens social cohesion, and hopes Congress will respond to the demands of Spanish society at its extraordinary sitting.
Hereu was in Irun to see work carried out under a plan for sustainable tourism at the destination.
