Two housing decrees face defeat in Spain’s Congress on Friday: Junts says it will vote against both. In Madrid, Spain, Housing Minister Isabel Rodríguez is urging the party to abstain on one of them, allowing it to survive the vote and return to Congress as an urgent bill.
The government approved both decrees on Tuesday. Speaking barely an hour before the debate, Rodríguez repeated Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s challenge to MPs: they must decide whether they stand “with the people or with the vultures”. Junts has announced it will vote no, putting both decrees on course for repeal.
