Mallorca housing protest draws hundreds to Palma
Hundreds of people take to the streets of Palma, Mallorca, on Saturday 3 October to demand the right to housing. The protest begins shortly before 12.30pm at Plaza de España, where a housing protest camp remains in place.
The Sindicat de Llogateres de Mallorca, Sindicat d'Habitatge de Palma and Plataforma de Afectados por la Hipoteca called the demonstration. It comes a day after Spain’s Congress rejected two decrees approved by the government.
The three groups welcome the housing protests held across the country this week. They say they will keep pressing for measures on housing, with a call for a general strike in view.
