IB3 puts 33 Balearic towns in TV village contest

Thirty-three municipalities across the Balearic Islands will compete for a New Year’s Eve broadcast from the winning town square when IB3’s new village contest starts on 20 September. El meu poble és el millor, fronted by the Rabassons, will air each Sunday until its final on 13 December. The Palma-based public broadcaster will also launch Laura Arias’s prime-time quiz La Roda del Temps on 21 September.

A vote decides the winning town

The village programme will travel through all 33 municipalities, focusing on their culture, traditions, landscapes and people. Viewers will choose their favourites through the Easypromos voting system.

Five towns will reach the final, where the winner will be selected using the Eurovision method. Its prize is the live New Year’s Eve chimes broadcast from its own square.

A wheel sends quiz players back in time

In La Roda del Temps, contestants spin a wheel that reveals a different year. They face five rounds built around music, television, cinema, sport and historical moments before playing for the accumulated prize in the final.

IB3’s refreshed schedule also brings back Terra de Sabors on 14 September at 22.05, presented by Virginia Quetglas. News programme Al Dia starts at 09.00, followed by Ara Mateix at 11.00, while IB3 Notícies airs at 14.00 and 20.30.

Further arrivals include Creadors, Emprèn, Illencs arreu, Ara Mateix nit and Emergències. IB3 also plans the four-part documentary Sota dues Banderes and the two-part Un Regne dins la mar.
