Ibemprènjove programme to involve 78 groups next school year
The Balearic Government’s Ibemprènjove entrepreneurship programme will involve 78 groups from 27 educational centres in the next school year, a 37% rise on the previous year. The Ministry of Enterprise, Self-Employment and Energy announced the figures in Palma, Mallorca, on 17 August.
The participating centres will follow programme routes tailored to each educational stage. Project-based learning will be used to develop creativity, teamwork, initiative, communication and problem-solving skills.
Three routes for different learners
The Young Professional Entrepreneurs route is aimed at intermediate and higher vocational training students. Participants create and run a business built around an innovative idea throughout the school year.
Young Secondary Entrepreneurs involves secondary pupils setting up a cooperative. Their business concepts are intended to raise awareness of climate change, encourage social change or identify technological answers to problems in their local surroundings.
Young Associated Entrepreneurs is for basic vocational training students and recreates the establishment, organisation and management of a business activity linked to the education system.
Teachers give programme high marks
The Ministry said the increase follows a school year that educational centres rated highly. More than 81% of participating teachers responded to a satisfaction survey, which produced an overall score of 4.5 out of five.
Teachers highlighted coordination by the Balearic Islands Regional Development Agency, specialised consultant support, the web platform and students’ experience. They also cited personalised guidance, the technical team’s accessibility and gains in entrepreneurial initiative, creativity, personal autonomy and cooperative work.
