Iberojet posts €8.4m loss as Ávoris lends €12m
Iberojet has posted an €8.4 million loss for 2025 after aircraft incidents left planes grounded, pushing operating costs up by about €18 million. On 31 December 2025, Ávoris provided the airline with a €12 million participative loan due in 2027. The figures are contained in accounts filed with the Commercial Registry.
The latest funding takes Ávoris’s participative lending to Iberojet to €84 million. Ávoris is the travel group owned by Grupo Barceló. The total includes another €6 million loan and €66 million from the pandemic rescue package for Ávoris.
Iberojet had made a €692,000 profit in 2024. But extraordinary aircraft problems, mainly between June and September, sent it back into the red. The war in the Middle East also sharply reduced the availability of aircraft on the charter market, preventing the airline from covering the disruption as it normally would and creating further costs.
Revenue still rose 10.2% to €314.4 million in 2025. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation — known as EBITDA — fell to a €7.7 million loss, compared with a €4.7 million profit a year earlier.
The airline’s net equity stood at minus €73.2 million, worsening by 18.5%. Ávoris says improved business prospects and future cash inflows should be enough to meet current liabilities. It does not expect further risks from the aircraft issues after adopting corrective and monitoring measures.
