Ibiza animal shelter dog stolen during storm alert

Eivissa, Ibiza, Spain: A dog is stolen from an animal protection centre and the site is vandalised during a storm alert on 18 October. Both incidents happen in the early afternoon, according to the Centre for the Protection of Domestic Animals (Cepad). The centre makes them public on Tuesday, 3 November, and reports them to the Guardia Civil.

People at Cepad feel saddened, angry and powerless, the centre says. Its work is to rescue and care for vulnerable animals. The vandalism affects more than its premises and resources, it says: it also hurts the work of the people behind that care. The theft of a dog in its care is especially worrying.

Cepad says the incidents will not stop its work with animals.
