Ibiza cocaine raid: four held among 27 arrests
Police report four arrests on Ibiza, Spain, in a cocaine operation that has led to 27 arrests and put luxury villas under scrutiny. On 2 October 2026, Spain’s National Police and Civil Guard say the suspected network brought cocaine into Europe and used luxury property firms to launder the proceeds. Europol coordinated the operation.
Encrypted messages and cocaine seized in Panama
The investigation began in September 2023 with an examination of encrypted messages. That work helped investigators identify people suspected of being behind four cocaine consignments seized in Panama. The cocaine weighed more than 1,500 kilos in total. Police say the network was part of the Spanish branch of a larger international trafficking operation.
Luxury villas and searches in two countries
Investigators say the network invested in property developments and luxury villas on Ibiza, in Marbella and Madrid. They also traced property investments to the Dominican Republic and Dubai. Of the 27 arrests, 14 were in Madrid province and two in Málaga province.
Officers carried out 38 simultaneous searches in Spain and the Dominican Republic, with members of Portugal’s Judicial Police taking part. They seized 40 high-end vehicles, two boats, six firearms, cryptoassets worth more than 1,300,000 USDT and more than 270,000 euros in cash. Spain’s National Court investigating section and specialist anti-drug prosecutors are directing the case.
