A €190,000 loan is at the centre of a row in Sant Antoni, Ibiza: tourism councillor Miguel Tur voted on changes to a housing project promoted by the company that lent him the money, according to the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE). Sant Antoni’s Local Government Board approved the changes unanimously at a meeting in August. The PSOE is now demanding answers from mayor Marcos Serra.

The project on des Vedranell street is for a building with 16 homes, a pool, shared areas and parking. The board authorised changes during construction, with Tur, who is also deputy mayor, taking part in the vote.

The PSOE wants to know when Serra learnt of Tur’s link to the company and why he did not stop him taking part in decisions concerning it. The party says the vote increases the political responsibility of both men. It plans to request the documents and reports behind the decisions, as well as details of any action Serra took and what he knew.
