A €190,000 loan request puts councillor Miguel Tur under pressure in Sant Antoni, Ibiza: the PSOE demands his resignation on Monday 2 November. The party says Tur acknowledged at a council meeting that he asked the owner of a business group for the personal loan while the council was signing contracts with the group’s firms.

Those firms have billed the council more than €2 million during the current term, according to the PSOE. Some contracts covered areas overseen by Tur. The party also points to council decisions on planning licences and sanction proceedings concerning the firms.

If Tur does not resign on Monday, the PSOE says mayor Marcos Serra must dismiss him. Otherwise, the party says, Serra must face the political consequences himself.
