Ibiza, Balearic Islands: lawsuits filed in December still have not been accepted for court processing, according to Vox MP Patricia de las Heras. She raises the delay in the Balearic Parliament on Tuesday, 6 October 2026, and accuses the Balearic government of inaction. Regional minister Antònia Estarellas says she has asked Spain’s Ministry of Justice to create, fill and properly resource new court staff posts on the island.

De las Heras says the government cannot use its lack of responsibility for the courts as an excuse. Estarellas says the situation concerns the government. In June, she wrote to Presidency Minister Félix Bolaños about its concerns over the implementation of Organic Law 1/2025.

Estarellas says she and senator Miquel Jerez have monitored Ibiza’s courts and called for solutions since 2024. Last year, Spain’s government acknowledged that problems affecting the courts’ psychological and psychosocial teams had affected 37 cases. Estarellas says the Balearic government will keep pressing for solutions for Ibiza and the other islands.
