Ibiza floods: military pumps garages, prepares for Mallorca

Mallorca is one of two destinations for military emergency teams mobilised from València as the unit pumps water from garages overnight in Eivissa, Ibiza. The Military Emergency Unit reported the pumping work on its social media channels. On Sunday, it said it was mobilising teams from its third battalion at its València base to embark for Eivissa and Mallorca.

Balearic government president Marga Prohens thanked the unit for its quick response to the effects of the storms across the islands. She said the operation showed the importance of institutions working together to respond quickly to people in the Balearics. The unit has not said whether the mobilised teams are already working on Mallorca.
