Ibiza heritage trails link up to 98 island sites

Up to 98 places on the island of Ibiza: new heritage trails link sites tied to its history, culture and natural landscape. The Ibiza Island Council unveiled the Eivissa Revelada project at the World Travel Market in London on 4 November 2026. Many of the stops have protected cultural-heritage status.

Four themes, four maps

One trail follows the coast and its defences, including walls and defensive towers. The others cover rural life and traditions, society and culture, and archaeology, including traces of the Phoenicians and Romans.

Four maps carry digital content, while QR codes at the sites open further information. The material is available in Spanish and English. The council plans to add more ways to explain the sites, along with augmented-reality experiences.

A reason to visit beyond peak months

Council president Vicent Marí said he wants visitors to understand what they are seeing, what happened there and why it matters to Ibiza and the people who live on the island. The council also hopes the trails will give people reasons to come at other times of year, while easing pressure on the land and public services during the busiest months.

Marí pointed to figures for British visitors: 61 per cent had been to Ibiza before, 47 per cent stay for more than seven days, and their average holiday satisfaction score is 90 out of 100.
