Ibiza knife threat: worker disarms suspect

A worker disarmed a 36-year-old man who allegedly threatened him with a large knife at a premises in Playa d'en Bossa, Sant Josep, Ibiza, at about 1am on 14 September. The Guardia Civil arrested the Spanish national on suspicion of attempted homicide.

The worker had spotted the man riding an electric scooter through the main entrance of the car park several times. He reminded him that scooters, motorcycles and similar vehicles were not allowed inside.

The man allegedly ignored the warning and continued riding, causing a collision and damaging car-park furniture. When the worker challenged him over the damage, the man allegedly became aggressive towards him and others there.

According to the Guardia Civil, he then pulled a large knife from a waist bag and threatened the worker. The worker restrained him and took the blade away while another person called officers from the Sant Josep post.

After taking witness statements and reviewing camera footage, officers made the arrest.
