The PSOE says a private, publicly funded nursery linked to Ibiza Town’s education councillor opened on Monday, three days before the city’s other centres. The party says the other nurseries had to follow Education instructions. It is demanding an immediate explanation for the opening on the 7th.

Socialist councillor Carmen Boned called the alleged move “absolutely unacceptable”. She said education could not be managed this way when the councillor responsible was accused of ignoring Education orders.

The PSOE says families and nursery professionals have a right to know whether the same rules apply to everyone. It says centres cannot be treated differently because of who runs them or who they are linked to.
